Granulating and Glitter Watercolor with Lexi
What: How to use granulating and metallic colors with the optimum vibrancy and opacity, how to sketch a basic and loose landscape, how to layer your paints effectively giving lots of dimension and interest and lots of abstract play!

I have been so excited to create a workshop including these two outrageously fun types of watercolor, and cannot wait to share how incredible they are to work with! Even if you’ve been using granulating and metallic watercolor paints for years, you’re going to get a kick out of how we can up our game with them. Class kits include a full sheet of my original floral sketches on a 9” x 12” piece of watercolor paper, so part of class we get to bliss out and paint with all these amazing paints on the floral printout. We’ll also see the perks of painting landscapes with nothing but granulating colors, the joys of abstract watercolor and how to layer for the optimal rich & deep color we all love to achieve with watercolor.
At the time of registration, I will include a list of where to buy granulating colors and metallic colors by half pans (more budget friendly), in addition to a swatch chart I created to show all the ones I have. This lets you pick and choose which you’d like to add. Just keep in mind that you do not have to buy ALL of the ones I have. Just as long as you have at least 3 to 4 granulating paint options and 1 to 2 metallic paint options.
Class Supplies:
- Regular Watercolor Paints – any brand with do
- Granulating Watercolors (at least 3 to 4)
- Glitter or Metallic Watercolors (at least 1 or 2)
- Pipette or Eye dropper
- Brushes: Round 2 and 6
- Cup for water
- Palette or mixing cups for lots of color mixing
- Optional: Kuretake Gold Mica Ink, but if you have gold paint of any kind, you can use that too
- Fine Tip Sharpie (black)
- Pencil and eraser
- Painters Tape and a Rigid Surface (to tape our paintings down to – it helps to keep the paper from buckling)
