What: Step by Step Guide to Basic Pamphlet Binding, Coloring & Decorating

A few years back I fell down the rabbit hole that is Midori journals. All their incredible inserts and ways to use/accessorize them just delighted me on so many levels. I started creating the custom journal covers, but quickly saw that I could incorporate my curiosity with paper crafts into beautifully decorated inserts journals. These could and would coordinate with seasonal paper collections, and the options are positively endless there. Scrapbooking has never been my thing, but I sure do love all those supplies. I would find myself buying them and squirreling them away, but with Midori journals and the Heidi Swapp Memorydex, I was able to satisfy my love with paper embellishments and gorgeous papers! Join me for a simple and fun intro into a passport sized Midori insert journal. We’ll assemble, embellish, color and sketch delightful imagery to add to our lovely inserts. You may choose to simply use yours as a journal, but I adore printing out mini photos of my family/friend events. These quickly and easily give me a finished album of special memories and events. Boho Christmas collection is by Simple Stories, just in case you’d like to purchase additional embellies.
Please note, this workshop is just the insert journal, we will not be making the leather cover – however that class will be coming too (so keep those peepers open).
Kits Include (Shipping Included in Cost):
- Pre-cut Boho Christmas cardstock for the cover and a single insert (passport sized)
- (2) pre-cut watercolor paper inserts
- Assorted ephemera cut outs that coordinated with the paper (these vary from kit to kit)
- (2) decorative tags
- Pre-stamped sheet of images on watercolor paper
- Waxed cord
- Book binding needle
Class Supplies:
- Watercolor OR Colored Pencils OR Markers
* If you’re using watercolor, you will also need a brush size 2 round + water cup + palette for mixing colors – a heat tool for quick dry is also helpful
- Scissors (fussy cutters like Cutter Bees are perfect)
- Foam Tape
- Double-sided sticky tape
- Awl & Piercing Mat
- Pencil & Eraser
- A couple sheets of additional watercolor paper (size isn’t important)
- OPTIONAL ITEMS: Distress Ink Pad (vintage photo or tea dye) and a sponge applicator tool for the distressing of the paper edges.

What: Step by Step Guide to Paper Dolls and Paper Crafting

What’s more fun than a morning packed with coloring paper dolls and whimsical paper crafting?! Join me for a wonderfully joyful workshop in which we color in our paper dolls (you choose the medium, ie watercolor, colored pencils or markers), plenty of fussy cutting & assembling and the “putting together” of all our fabulous paper craft supplies! Your kits have all these yummy bits, including three pre-stamped paper dolls from my original collection of stamps. These make great gifts to give or add-ons to packages, so consider giving one with a lovely card this holiday season. The paper collection is a subtle winter theme, so they are quite neutral throughout the year. First time with paper dolls, don’t worry, I’ve got you! I’ll walk you through the in’s and out’s – you’ll be a fan in no time!
