Debby Anderson: Sacred Grace July 31st

As you all know, we have some seriously delish classes and retreats over the next few months/year!  I am excited to share one more delightful workshop with you, and it will be the last guest teacher I host until this Fall. The word, sacred is derived from Old French sacrer  which means to consecrate or dedicate. Each of our hearts holds a unique combination of courage, love, joy and tenderness, which are revealed daily through our actions, words and deeds. Wont you take this journey with me as we honor or dedicate our hearts to love, romance, bravery and purpose.

Students will learn how to work with vintage beaded sari silk, antiqued lace, velvet trim, etc. to cover their Hearts
Students will learn how to add color and antiquing methods ~
this creates dimension to give an Old World & time-worn look and feel to their one of a kind unique creations.

Clay & Embed

Students can embellish their work using their own vintage gems and found objects ~ including small crosses and spiritual medals.

Your beautiful pendants can be worn as a real statement maker.  You may want to bring chunky chain, or a pre made necklace.
When not wearing your piece of art you may want to display the necklace in your home and/or could be a fabulous addition to your home decor!

Two day workshop  
Description of workshop:                         
In this class I will be teaching you how to make a fabric 4 signature book (6" x 8") with a wood based front and back cover. I will instruct how to make coptic binding stitch to attach the front and back cover and all of the signatures. I demonstrate how to make gesso and plaster covered fabric for the pages and how to make lace, fabric, plaster borders to trim your pages.
After the book is constructed we will be working on our pages using mixed  media painting and collaging techniques . We will work on our cover using collage, image transfers, drawing, painting with watercolors, gesso, re-inkers and pastels. We will paint portraits, partial figures and flowers (the painting can be painting over the image transfers or your own drawings). We will also start working on our pages with paint, stamps, applying plaster with stencils to create beautiful textures.
